Great win for our 2XI as they secured a massive victory over Glazebury by 137 runs!
Iain Johnson and Pete Williamson laid the perfect foundation at the top of the order, paving the way for Rana Dey (60 off 54) and Sajin Sathyan (52 off 34) to truly capitalise.
Captain Graeme Stacey then led by example with the ball, taking an impressive 5-24 off 7 overs!
Unfortunately, our 1XI had a tough day & lost to Lymm.

On the 7th of September 2024, a team of brave climbers from Bowdon Vale Cricket Club will be taking on one of the UK’s toughest outdoor challenges – the National 3 Peaks Challenge.

The goal?

This challenge is not for the faint-hearted.

But we can’t do it alone.

Represent Bowdon Vale Cricket Club at the Altrincham 10k!

This is your chance to represent Bowdon Vale Cricket Club at the Altrincham 10k and help us raise funds for new cricket nets.

Participation Cost:

- If 6 or more individuals join, it will cost each runner £25. - If fewer than 6 individuals join, the cost will be £34 per runner.

- Sponsorship Goal: Each participant should aim to secure sponsorships totaling £100.

1XI vs Bunbury away:

Vale's 1XI embarked on a lengthy journey to Bunbury, a venue unfamiliar to most of the team.

Post-break, Halsall and Sen resumed their partnership effectively until Sen was caught for 38.

In response, Bunbury started strong, taking advantage of Vale's poor fielding to reach 50-0 swiftly.

2XI vs Mellor at home was abandonded due to rain.

1XI vs Wirral at Home:

Vale's 1XI hosted Wirral for a 12:30pm start at Priory Street.
After tea, the Power brothers opened the batting for Vale.
Pankaj Meshram tried to hold up an end while Langley tried to get Vale closer to the target.
2XI vs Timperley away:

Vale's 2XI made the trip around the corner to Timperley.
In their run chase, Timperley began strongly until Trivedi removed Carr for 19.

1XI Match Report vs Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge Away:

Vale's 1XI were eager to bounce back from last week's narrow defeat to Lymm as they traveled to Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge.
A rapid succession of wickets followed for Vale.
Vale’s batting response started disastrously.
Despite the tense atmosphere, Pankaj Meshram and Max Lloyd secured the victory for Vale, ensuring a win by 3 wickets and a return to winning ways.
2XI Match Report vs Rostherne at home:

Vale's 2XI aimed to maintain their unbeaten start to the season as they hosted Rostherne.
After tea, Vale needed a strong start to defend the low total.

1XI Match Report vs Lymm at Home:

1XI were looking to carry on their winning start to the season as we faced a tricky Lymm side at home.
Max Lloyd and Steve Bottomley put on a solid partnership but Bottomley was then removed for 14 and Lloyd soon followed after a commendable 20.
After tea, despite our poor batting performance, some were happy as Man Utd had just scored their second goal as we were coming out to field.
Even though Halsall secured three more wickets, finishing with impressive figures of 7-14 off 7 overs, it wasn’t meant to be for the Vale.
2XI Match Report vs Glazebury Away:

Our 2XI were looking to carry on their unbeaten start to the season after an exciting draw last week.
After tea, Dinkar Trivedi made an immediate impact by taking the early wickets of Short and Puthanvitle and also running out Kumar SA, leaving Glazebury quickly three down.

The weather hasn't been kind to us this week, leading to the unfortunate cancellation of several eagerly anticipated matches.
On Saturday, as well as hosting All Stars & Dynamos in the morning; our 1XI is set to host Lymm, with the match scheduled to start at 12:30pm.
