A much more comfortable evening for the Vikings this week. Up against newbies Didsbury, who are playing all their fixtures away from home, Vale put in an excellent team performance to emerge clear victors. Opting to bat Didsbury were kept very quiet initially, Higson (0-7 off 4) and C Roberts (2-21 off 4) they had a late order flurry but only just managed to pass the hundred, all this despite a few dropped catches. In contrast BV got off to a good start Webb (18), Sen (30*) and were always well ahead of the rate. The Didsbury bowling seemed to improve as the innings progressed but Dey (24*) continued the Vale domination. The highlight of the innings a “Greening special” head high 6 which nearly took down the pavilion. Available to view on-line I believe (#Harry Mills Inc). Expect Didsbury to improve for the second half of the season.
Didsbury 103/64(20 overs): Patel 24, Singh 30*, Higson 0-7 (4), C Roberts 2-21 (4)
Bowdon Vale Vikings 107/3 (16.2): Webb 18, D Sen 30*, R Dey 24*
