2023 Junior Awards Night

2023 Junior Awards Night

Wow what a fantastic year it has been for our junior section. We have welcomed 60+ All Stars & Dynamos to our Saturday morning sessions which have been both fun & developmental. Monday night sessions have supported the transition from Dynamos to hard ball cricket & after a season of friendly matches we returned to league cricket for the U11s with the U9s taking part in semi-competitive games. All sessions ran from May to September extending junior cricket as long as weather permitted.

The U11s reached the final of their league with the weather determining the outcome rather than a result but it was still a great achievement in our 1st year of competitive cricket since pre-covid. Great news for 2024 is to welcome an U13s squad.

We acknowledged these milestones at our Junior Presentation night where every child received a medal & trophies were lifted for the U9s & U11s best batters Ben & George, best bowlers Henry & Tom, most improved players Dylan & Alfie. Molly received the Ron Ascott ‘Fair Play’ trophy & Wilf took the Junior Player of the Year Award. Well done to each & everyone of you, all well deserved. For those who couldn't attend there is a medal waiting for you at the club.

Huge thanks goes out to the Saturday coaches Alex, Nigel, Max, Louis, Ben, Emily, Molly & all the activators. Without this starting point our juniors would not have developed so well. Your commitment to delivering exciting sessions is much appreciated. Thanks to Ian, Nigel & Arthur for prepping the ground. Thanks to John & Val for providing tuck shop sweets & to Alan helping me sell coffee & teas.

To the Monday night coaching team of Tom, Alex, Chris & Pete, another huge thank you for your dedication in running winter nets from September to April when outdoor practice resumed. A whole year of commitment, wow!! Thanks to Tom P, Max & Ben for your support.

Without the dedication, willingness to learn & enthusiasm of the children we would not have flourished & you all deserve a round of applause for supporting each other & away teams, showing respect, being polite.

Thank you to a fantastic group of parents & families who have supported during practice sessions & game time. We can’t do this without you

Please do not hesitate to contact Lorna if you need any support during the closed season. We are always here to help if we can. Please take care & we will see the Monday night juniors/Dynamos at Lymm High School for winter nets in January 2024.
